i am not an orthodox Muslim.for me after holy Quran every thing is liable to doubt.though like Quranists i dont reject the hadiths but i bear utmost caution to weigh their authenticity. best yardstick is to see whether it has accord with holy Quran or not. if it has then it is acceptable otherwise reject it. holy Quran is the word of ALLAH and should be base of every matter.

first lets take it in a muslim perspective.
i quote holy Quran
O ye who believe! ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness that ye may take away part of the dower ye have given them except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good. holy (holy Quran 4:19 )
in above ayah the world inherit is important which means the bondage of wedlock. .it means you cant marry a woman without her will. the consent of the marrying female is must.now a child has no proper disposition to approve or dis approve something ,specially when come to choosing a husband. now how can i admit that holy prophet(PBUH) did violate this verse by marrying a child.if people at that time would not raise figure on him that on one hand he describes the Quran's ruling on that and on other he discard this ruling. how could he convinced people then that Quran is the world of ALLAH when his own behavior was contrary to holy Quran.

"... Aisha said: 'If the "jariyah" (young girl) reaches nine years, then she is a woman", Al Munzhiri (the hadeeth expert) said: Narrated by Tirmizhi and Nasaa'i; Al Tirmithi said: Good Hadeeth.

prophet Muhammad(PBUH) marriage can be perceived in the perspective of an abnormal behavior called PEDOPHILIA.but if you ponder deep into the matter then you will see a big question mark .it is clearly mentioned in all hadiths that prophet Muhammad(PBUH) married the Aisha(RA) when she was 6 years old and consummate the marriage when she became 9 years old. if prophet Muhammad(PBUH) was a pedophile then he could get more ecstasy from a 6 years old Aisha(a prepubescent girl) why he let her go to become mature.i leave this question to you.

Comment: The statistics show that the prophet’s marriage to Aisha at her young age was an exception and not a norm of his other marriages. Furthermore ‘a pedophile’s main mode of sexual satisfaction is with prepubescent girls’, which is contradictory to the 91% of prophet’s marriage to women 17 years and over. An unbiased examination of Prophet’s life and his marriages to his wives blatantly rejects the notion of his lifestyle fitting that of a pedophile. All his brides were aged widows (except Aisha and Marium). Moreover, according to Kaplan and Sadock's Synopsis of Psychiatry , a vast majority of pedophiles possess a history of exhibitionism, voyeurism, or rape. Again, there is no single reference from either religious or secular sources that the noble Prophet ever indulged in such sadistic behavior (God forbid). This truth is observed and accepted by both Muslims and unbiased non-Muslims scholars.
NOW Question arises if Aisha(RA) was really mature or did she reached her puberty at the age of 9. i think picture speaks better than words in some cases.

after mentioning all ,if someone still levels any kind of allegation on the basis of Aisha's marriage then it is his own mindset.if he dislike young spouse ,its OK. Islam don't force you to marry young girls at any cost. Islam just give you a liberty that you can do this if at younger age girl attains her maturity or puberty.frankly speaking i have married a girl who is 11 years younger than me. she feels herself the luckiest woman in the world like Aisha(RA) did.
this is our own narrow mindedness or grudge against Islam that we make issue out of an non issue.if Aisha was happy to to be married to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who the hell we are to poke our nose into the matter. we are not better judge than the "nature ". if nature had proclaimed her "fit : for marriage,that's it. we cant and we should not challenge the way of Nature. puberty means maturity if it come at age 9 or at 17.
